Frequently asked questions

Who is MyFaith for?

MyFaith is designed for anyone exploring Christianity, congregants seeking support and connection, and faith leaders serving their communities. Whether you're taking a first step in faith, looking for guidance, or supporting others through ministry, MyFaith aims to make guidance, care and community more accessible.

Do I need to belong to a church to use MyFaith?

No. You can use MyFaith whether you're part of a church, exploring Christianity, or simply looking for someone to talk to. Some community features, such as groups, events and updates, are linked to specific church communities. However, you can still connect with verified faith leaders without joining a church community within the platform.

What kind of support can I get?

You can speak with a faith leader about a range of topics, including questions about Christianity, prayer, spiritual guidance, difficult life circumstances, or simply having someone to talk to. MyFaith is designed to support real, person-to-person conversation rooted in care, guidance and community.

Is this the same as therapy or counselling?

No. MyFaith connects you with faith leaders for pastoral support, guidance and conversation. While these conversations may be meaningful and supportive, MyFaith is not a replacement for professional medical, mental health or counselling services.

Who are the faith leaders on the platform?

MyFaith works with verified faith leaders connected to established churches, ministries and Christian communities. Users can view a leader's background, church affiliation, areas of experience and availability before choosing who to connect with.

Can I choose who I speak to?

Yes. MyFaith is designed to help people discover and connect with faith leaders who are the right fit for their needs, preferences and circumstances. Users can view profiles, availability and areas of experience before deciding who they would like to contact.

Can I speak to someone outside my local area?

Yes. While MyFaith is designed to support local connection, it also allows you to reach a verified faith leader elsewhere if that feels more appropriate or accessible. This can be especially helpful if you’re new to an area, unable to attend in person, looking for support that fits around your schedule, or would prefer to speak with someone with a particular background, language or area of experience.

Do I have to commit to anything?

No. You can use MyFaith as and when you need it, whether that's for a one-off conversation or more ongoing support. You're free to engage in a way that feels right for you, with no obligation to join a particular church community or continue using the platform.

Is it private and secure?

Trust and safeguarding are important to us. We are designing MyFaith to support secure communication, appropriate safeguards and responsible pastoral care. Users will be able to choose how and when they engage, with clear reporting and accountability processes built into the platform.

How much does it cost?

We’re still shaping the long-term model, but our aim is to keep MyFaith simple, accessible and affordable for both individuals and church communities.
